The Online Directory Privacy Policy
  1. Applicability of this policy
    1. This web site is a service whereby The Online Directory, an intermediary, introduces you to suppliers (Suppliers) of services which you can buy direct from in various. You can access the Suppliers’ products and services online by clicking on "Submit", "View Web Site" or any similar button which takes you to a separate Supplier web site. (In some cases our branding will appear on top of such site but it is still a separate Supplier web site.) You can also telephone Suppliers via the numbers given on our web site.
    2. By using this web site and/or supplying information on it, you confirm that you agree to the collection and/or use of your personal information in accordance with this privacy policy. You also confirm that you have shown this policy to, and obtained similar consent from, any third party individuals whose personal information you supply.
    3. We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy without notice and so you should check it each time you visit our site.
    4. By supplying personal information to a Supplier, you agree to the disclosure to us and our use of such information in accordance with this privacy policy. When accessing any of the Supplier web sites, you should also request and read the separate privacy statement or policy which applies to the use by the Supplier of the information collected on that site. We have no responsibility for these independent statements or policies or for the collection and use of personal data by those Suppliers.

  2. What kind of information is collected about you?
    1. For registering we may ask you to complete a form including your email address, name, phone number and other information relevant to your profile.
    2. When you request a quote from any of the Suppliers you will be asked to supply a range of personal information necessary to assess your application. All such information will be made available to us. This information may include data that is classified as sensitive personal data under the Data Protection Act 1998. You may also be asked to supply third party data.
    3. We may receive and store certain information automatically when you interact with us. Examples include a unique reference number which is linked to the data you enter on our system, the internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the internet and computer and connection information such as browser type and version, your operating system and platform, products or services you viewed or searched for, parts of our site you visited and any phone number used to contact us.

  3. What we do with information collected about you
    1. If you have consented on our web site or elsewhere, we may use your personal data to inform you by email or otherwise of our products or services which may be of interest to you.
    2. If you choose to Request a Quote via The Online Directory, and click on "Submit" we will send you an email confirming the name and contact details of the Suppliers to which the indicative quote applies. We will also hold your data after we send your details to the relevant Supplier in case you wish to pursue indicative quotes from other Suppliers.
    3. We may use your personal information to provide a more personalised and user-friendly visit to our web site as follows: to provide you with details of and links to our or recommended third party products or services which may be of interest to you including information about special offers or promotions and related content and to help us track user traffic patterns. We may also use this information to improve our web site or to prevent or detect fraud or abuses.
    4. We may access, remove, alter or store any personal information if we have reason to believe that you have or may have breached our terms and conditions or where we are required to do so by law or appropriate authority.

  4. To whom to we disclose your information?
    1. The Online Directory web site is hosted and administered on our behalf by Memset Limited ("MEM"). MEM stores the personal data you supply on The Online Directory and processes it in accordance with our instructions.
    2. When you obtain an indicative quote on The Online Directory and select "Submit", the information you have provided is sent to the relevant Supplier(s) to enable them to contact you assuming you wish to proceed further and the Supplier may contact you by telephone or otherwise for this purpose.
    3. If you have consented on our web site or elsewhere, we may supply third parties with your personal information so that they can contact you by email or otherwise with details of products or services which may be of interest to you. Details of the third party data mentioned above and any other sensitive personal data will not in any case be used for this purpose.
    4. We may also disclose your personal information so far as reasonably necessary if we have reason to believe that you have or may have breached our terms and conditions or where we are required to do so by law or appropriate authority or in the context of a sale or merger of all or part of our business.
    5. Whenever we transfer personal information to countries outside of the European Economic Area in the course of sharing information as set out above, we will ensure that the information is transferred in accordance with this privacy policy.
